David "helping" Grandma in the kitchen

Grandma's step stool is about the right height to stand up (plus a good stopper
so he wouldn't get into the stove drawer and cabinets).
Kitchen toys are so much fun to play with!

The day before Thanksgiving David and I spent many hours together from 7:15am until about 5:45pm. He loved playing in the kitchen while I did some preparations for the next day. He loved that wooden spoon which I had to turn around many times so he wouldn't hurt himself. He thought it was so much fun to bang it plus he loved to make many sounds as he played.

David D's 1st Thanksgiving--11/22/2007

" Thankful for Mommy and Daddy"
Here's the turkey Grandpa is ready to carve

The family on David's first thanksgiving

Around the table...Thankful for Jesus, family, a new grandson, jobs,
food and shelter... and so much more.
Looks like the turkey hadn't even been carved yet but it had been... delicious leftovers!
After dinner we went for a brisk walk around the block...a little slippery! Our
first real snow of the season (didn't last long).
Then a phone call from Auntie Kari...
"I love you, Auntie Kari ..."
"Yeh, I want her to know I miss her..."
What a special day with family! I kept busy all day!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Another try at crawling for David D 11/17/2007

It's hard to get the action so I tried again to capture him in the act! The tummy crawl still gets him there faster...he thinks!

David crawling 11/18/2007

Not the best video but the best of his crawling so far...on his hands and knees and not the tummy crawl.

lefse making with cousin Judy last Saturday 11/17/2007

The two ladies on either side of the top photo were grandmothers to the bottom photo ladies (Ginny, Barb, & Penny). I wonder what they would think of the legacy they initiated to their future granddaughters and great granddaughters!! Those grandmothers prayed often for their future generations knowing their heavenly Father would always see them through happy and tough times. We have a very blessed heritage! I'm sure they also helped each other sharing their best receipes!

Making sure the lefse dough "feels' right!

The never-ending rolling...

I got the photos to post finally!! 11/24/2007

I'm having trouble when posting photos on this blog site so here are some photos of our lefse making fun last Saturday afternoon. She had done the same thing with her niece, Andrea Burt, Saturday am so Judy had a long day of making lefse. We had a fun visit besides. Maybe sometime some additional photos will be posted.

Judy had been "rolling" for awhile!!
Our pile of cooled lefse ready for packaging.
We ate 2 but had 59 pieces left! Delicious and moist!

One of Judy's friends made this so she could transport her lefse making supplies to church or wherever she was making lefse. It holds the rolling surface, grill, sticks, rolling pin with their stockinette, etc. Really handy for storage too.

David D: 8 months old today!

Sorry there are no photos of him today. I have been trying to post a video or 2 but the blog site is having troubles with video uploads so another time for that!
I just want to say how much I have felt blessed that David D made his entrance into this world 8 months ago today. What a joy he is and has been to all of us! It's amazing how much that little guy has grown and all the things he has learned to do. He is a happy little one with a quick smile. Recently he enjoys hearing his voice so the chatter and squeals let us know where he is as he is quick to "crawl" (on his tummy) investigating his surroundings and finding any knobs or dials or any new surface that can make a noise. If he doesn't "see" one of us soon you find him peaking around a corner and once he has spotted you he breaks into a big smile crawling over for a hug!
I pray David will grow up to know and love Jesus and willing to follow Him all his days. God has truly blessed us!

David interacting with Grandma--giggling!

Last evening David started this game with me and then again this afternoon when we were together. He loves to blabber, squeal, and is VERY active in his crawling on his tummy investigating everything, especially knobs, under rugs to see what is hiding there, and keeping me in his sight! Tomorrow he is 8 months old!...so much learning these past 8 months.
