Last weekend-babysitting

Last Sunday pm we babysat David while his parents' went to his mother's Christmas party for one of her 2 jobs. He kept us entertained but then fell asleep a little on the early side for which we were glad. Since Kari was home she came over later and relieved her parents so we could get home as it was an early work day for us the next morning. She didn't seem to mind too much!
David's parents enjoyed their "date" especially when Julie won the grand prize of the party which was a trip to Arizona with a place to stay and use of a car for a week! Nice prize!!

Today was my day with David. He was a busy boy all day but also did take 2 naps for which I was glad! He likes to investigate everything plus he likes his bath times. I had the idea to stand him on a chair by the kitchen sink, pour about an inch of water in it, and see what he would do! He loved it, splashing himself and Grandma. It will work better when he is a little taller. Then he can then "help" Grandma wash dishes. I was holding unto him plus trying to take a video so not the best photos but... What fun!

David @ 10.5 months...first steps!

Today we got new carpet installed in our master bedroom, hallway and stairs going to the second floor. I used his parents gate to keep David away while they installed the carpet. He would stand and watch talking the whole time. I also noticed David would stand on his tip-toes or look through the holes on the gate to see the installer. Then D just walked away this time taking many steps. Throughout the day he took many more short steps rather than always crawl. Good he wears a diaper after all the "sit-downs' he does!! At least the fall is not far! I'll try another blog entry with more activity but it takes a while to upload these videos!
